The reason the car needs a fuel pump that tank is located on the opposite side of the engine. The pump operation is to provide the engine with the necessary fuel.

 

There are two types of fuel pumps: Mechanical - used in cars with carburetors, and Electric - used in fuel injection systems

 

Carburetor is a fuel-supplying mechanism that uses a vacuum system which can deliver fuel to the engine. But carburetor needs help that is the task of the fuel pump. This pump is driven by the performance of the engine, and is located along the engine itself.

Fuel injection system is a system that works by injecting fuel into the combustion chambers of the engine. Computer controls the system by monitoring the position of the throttle, the air-fuel ratios and content of the exhaust gases. The pump is located in the tank or very close to it. It is connected and driven by electricity in order to supply fuel to the engine. Electric pump can be recognized when there is a slight noise coming from the tank of your car.
