Shock absorbers

Shock absorbers

The suspension of the car mainly consists of three components: tires, springs and shock absorbers. All of these components must be kept in good condition to ensure the stability of the car, keeping the contact between the tire and road surface.

Shock absorbers provide vehicle stability and passenger comfort during movement of the car. It is recommended for them to be replaced after every 50,000 km. The replacement of the shock absorbers is always done in pairs - front or rear - as changing a shock absorber on one side will not reduce unnecessary movement to the tolerance limits, required for the safety of the passengers and the driver.

VeGa shock absorbers are distinguished by:

Limiting unnecessary vehicle movement
Maintaining the vehicle stability while in motion
Absorbing the vibrations from the road bumps while maintaining the             stability of the vehicle without compromising passenger comfort
Minimize the tire wear
Reducing the overall wear of the suspension of the car

Shock absorbers – why are they so important?

They are the stabilizing component in the car which ensures safety               when turning
They ensure smooth and comfortable movement of the vehicle
They improve vehicle handling
They are part of vehicle suspension

Shock absorbers are sensitive to speed and they control the movement of the spring suspension and chassis of the vehicle to maintain stability. They transform the kinetic energy produced by suspension in thermal energy, which is dissipated by the fluid in the shock absorbers.

Signs that your shock absorbers need replacing:

Uneven wear of the tires
The car leans a lot when driving over uneven surfaces
If you put your hands on the hood of the car and shake a few times,           your shock absorbers need replacing if it continues to swing                       without your intervention
Feeling of instability of the car while driving at high speed
Excessive inclination of the car when braking or accelerating
If you notice an oil leak from the shock absorber
A longer braking distance
Higher fuel consumption

However, it is important how and where you drive your car, it is recommended to replace shock absorbers after every 50,000 km.
