Oil filter

Oil filter

You could say that oil is the lifeblood of your car's engine. As the oil circulates through the engine, it "collects" all sorts of contaminants. These pollutants can damage the engine and after a while the engine will not run at all.  Oil filter purifies the oil that goes to the engine, which keeps both the quality of oil and the proper functioning of the engine.

Therefore it is very important that oil filter is replaced with the oil change. The replacement must be done according to the specifications of vehicle manufacturers, usually after each 10,000 or 15,000 km. It is important to note that even if not reached the required mileage for change, it should be changed at least once a year.

VeGa filters are:

Made of high quality materials
Very good filtration, to reduce engine wear
Cover the requirements of automobile manufacturers

Oil filter is made so that it removes contaminations from the engine, transmission and hydraulic oil. In the years materials that filter are produced from changed a lot. The earliest workings include material from steel wool, wire mesh and so on; later, consisted of cotton or other material, such as linen. When filters become widely usable in order to reduce production costs, the filters are made from pulp and paper products. And finally introduced are special filters, made of synthetic materials. Today, less expensive replacement filters use cellulose, a better quality filters - synthetic materials and those with the highest quality using fiber glass or very fine metal particles.

How to replace oil filter?

1. Find where the filter is mounted and take appropriate tool for his replace-     ment. Filter is usually located on the side of the engine block or at an           angle at the bottom of the engine. Some filters have a retaining bolt,           which requires a special wrench to remove it, but most modern cars are       using element filters, which would not require dismounting of the metal         part of the filter.
2. Remove the old filter and clean the filter housing to ensure that the new       filter will be mounted properly. Make sure that the old filter gasket is not      stuck on the engine.
3. Insert the filter correctly. Put little oil on the new filter gasket. This will         help to better tighten the filter and to prevent distortion of the seal while       screwing. Turn the filter until it does tighten enough. Do not over-tighten      the filter.
