Timing belt

Timing belt is one of the key components of internal combustion engines. Timely change of the timing belt is essential for proper operation and durability of the engine. The number of components that are driven by belt is increasing,

That’s why recommended change of the timing belt is at 50,000 km. mileage. Together with the change of the timing belt it is recommended to replace all pulleys associated with it, and also in some car models water pump if it's driven by timing belt.
Technological development increases belt requirements and questions about his durability, reliability and flexibility. It must withstand high temperatures because the heat is usually centered around the engine and can not be easily and quickly diffused.

VeGa timing belts are made of high quality materials with special technology, covering the latest requirements of carmakers.

With timing belts VeGa you get:

Better resistance to grease, oil and moisture
Good traction and reduced noise value
Increased resistance to wear caused by friction
Precise craftsmanship ensures precise synchronization
Used high-quality materials, ensuring strength, flexibility and durability
Wide range

The main function of timing belt is to provide precise synchronization between the camshaft and crankshaft. It provides a synchronized drive and crankshaft and camshaft have proportional constant speed. Timing belts are made of special materials which give durability, flexibility and stamina to the belt, which is crucial. As the belt is subjected to exceptional loads during engine operation it is advisable to maintain it in good condition and change it as soon as you sign of wear appears.

Correct installation and tensioning of the are obligatory to ensure smooth operation of the engine. When installing a new belt is important carefully to select the right product according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Upon disassembly may be necessary to remove other components to gain access to the belt and cover for him. Then turn the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation as a marker of the crankshaft pulley match cover marker. Now retaining bolt of tensioner pulley can be unfold.
When replacing the timing belt tensioner, deflection pulleys as crankshaft pulley also, must be inspected for signs of wear. The same information could be obtained from condition of the removed timing belt. It is advisable to perform simultaneous replacement of the belt and all pulleys.
Timing belt is placed by hand without using tools. The belt does not have to force or twist. This can result in damage to his teeth or fibers. Then insert the tensioner pulley. If the mechanism does not include automatically tensioninng, the tensioning is done manually as prescribed by the car manufacturer. Finally, check the matching of both markers and only then tighten the pulley with switch. Last put the cover back on the belt.
